Mountain Pursuits is the South African home of great solo climbing equipment as well, such as the Silent Partner, Soloist, and Solo Aid.

So what's the buzz?

I have been hinting at a big change coming for Mountain Pursuits. And now it’s here.
I know this is going to sound confusing. Please don’t think that I am trying to pull a fast one on you (smokkel met jou kop, for the Afrikaans people). But I have good news and I have bad news. The bad news is that Mountain Pursuits just got more expensive. The good news is that Mountain Pursuits just got cheaper.

Let me explain. We are introducing the Mountain Pursuits community. What is this all about? Firstly, anyone can join. The membership requirements are very simple—you must want to join, and you must be willing to put up with the Mountain Pursuits newsletter, which is sent to the community. Thus, no newsletter, no community. So no, there are no membership cards, no corporate songs to memorise, and no T-shirts to wear.

Furthermore, you can resign from the community at any time you wish, and we promise that we will not send “the family” over to bash your kneecaps with ice axes if you do resign.

And what are the benefits of being a member of the Mountain Pursuits community? Firstly, you will receive the (almost) monthly Mountain Pursuits newsletter. It's stuffed full of community news, interesting information, and also our (almost) monthly specials. (Forgive me if I am overselling it).

Community members will also get 10% off the standard Mountain Pursuits prices. But at the end of the day, we believe that what we offer is not just good prices, but good service. However, you will find that our prices to community members will, we believe, be the best prices currently available (specials offered by other retailers excluded, of course).

We also reserve the right, in the future, to make some special offers available only to members of the community, and to bestow (or not to bestow, that is the question), any other privileges on our community members that we wish.
